We design it, we hang it, we come back and take it down. You get a house that looks right from the street, and a December where nobody in your family is on a ladder in the rain.
Lake Oswego is a harder place to light well than most of the metro, and it's not because the houses are bigger. It's the trees. Between the Douglas firs, the hillside lots and the long setbacks, half the homes here aren't really seen from thirty feet away. They're seen from a hundred feet away, through branches, often from below. A display that would look great on a flat suburban lot in Tualatin can simply disappear here.
That's why we plan a Lake Oswego house from the street first and the roof second. We'll stand where your neighbors and your guests actually see the home from, figure out which lines read from that distance, and then build the display around those. Usually that means fewer, bolder runs instead of outlining every last dormer.
The second thing is bulb choice. We install commercial grade C9 LEDs, the large classic bulb, cut and fit to your specific roofline so spacing stays even and the run ends where the roof ends. C9s hold their shape in wind and stay legible from a distance, which is exactly what a wooded lot set back from the road needs. We also keep more affordable C9 options on hand, so a long roofline doesn't have to mean a painful number.
Third: power. The most common reason a display goes dark in this town isn't a bad strand. It's a GFCI outlet on the wet side of the house tripping in the first real storm. Where a display plugs in deserves as much thought as where the lights go, and everything we install runs on a timer so the lights come on at dusk and shut off on their own. If something does fail during the season, we come back out. That's included, not an upsell.
Steep driveways, tall firs, homes set above or below the road. These are the ones seen from a distance and at an angle, so we go with bold roofline runs and big bulbs over fine detail work, and we light the approach, because the driveway is the first thing anyone sees.
Older homes on a tight grid, close to the sidewalk, on some of the busiest walking streets in the city. Here the opposite rule applies: detail reads. Porch columns, railings, window outlines and a good wreath do more than a giant roofline run, because people are ten feet away, not a hundred.
A lake home has two fronts. The street side is what your guests see; the lake side is what the whole neighborhood sees all season, and it's the one people forget to light. We plan both, and we keep the water facing elevation simple and warm so it reads clean across the water.
Long, low rooflines with not much vertical to work with. One clean, continuous run along the full length beats a busy roof every time, and a single tree lit well in the yard gives the height the house doesn't have.
Mountain Park is a planned community with an active homeowners association and an architectural review process. Seasonal lights and a permanent system are two very different conversations with an HOA. We're glad to work inside whatever your association asks for, and if you're considering anything year round, check with them first.
We're based in Wilsonville, fifteen minutes down the freeway, and we work the whole Lake Oswego side of the river all season. Being close matters most in the middle of December, when a strand goes out and you'd rather not wait a week for somebody to drive over from Vancouver.
Most people call us about three weeks later than they should. Here's the honest calendar so you can plan around it.
Install calendars fill through November. Booking early is how you choose your install week instead of taking what's left.
We work the dry windows. Lights go up and get tested, then sit dark on the timer until you want them on. Nobody has to see them lit in early November.
Lake Oswego's Tree Lighting Festival at Millennium Plaza Park is traditionally the Friday after Thanksgiving. Most of our clients want their own house on by then. Check the city's Parks & Rec page for this year's date.
Removal and storage for the off season are part of the service. No bins in the garage, no ladder in the rain, no strand to untangle next year.
The hardest part of deciding is picturing it. So we built a tool that does it for you. Upload a photo of your home and see it with Christmas lights on, in seconds. It's free, it works on your phone, and there's nothing to install.
Some people want the whole thing handled. Some people have a box of lights they love and just want somebody else on the ladder. We do both.
Professional Christmas light installation in Lake Oswego where we bring everything: the design, the bulbs, the install, the takedown and the storage.
Already own lights you like? Inherited a collection you're not parting with? We'll hang what you've got. This is the one people search for as Christmas light hanging services and can never find.
Rooflines, peaks, columns, wrapped trees and whole front of house displays across Lake Oswego and the Portland metro.
If you'd rather do this once and never think about it again, we also install permanent architectural lighting that you control from an app, changes color, disappears in daylight, and works for every holiday of the year, not just December.
